Fun facts are things like, “Tom Hanks has an asteroid named after him,” or “Sandra Bullock replaced Demi Moore in While You Were Sleeping.” Not a fun fact? What E! threw up onscreen while buying time between red-carpet interviews, which included: “Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991,” and “Robert Redford was stricken with polio as a child” — neither of which were so fun. Naturally, everyone but E! quickly noticed the inappropriateness of said fun facts, and some even decided to run with it.
