Back in 2011, we first heard there were plans to remake Point Break (Point Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo? Too easy?), with a script written by Salt writer Kurt Wimmer. It appears the thing is finally moving forward, with the studio aiming to start production this summer. Invincible director Ericson Core is attached to direct. And The Hollywood Reporter writes that Gerard Butler is in talks to play Bodhi, the part played by Patrick Swayze in the original. Though the general plot will be the same, the new Point Break will be internationally set and focused on extreme sports in general, not just surfing. There's still looking for someone to play the Keanu Reeves part. Who could possibly fill his shoes, you know, other than the hundreds of people who've been able to do it, without rehearsing, at Point Break Live?
