Grace of Monaco was first intended to come out last December, before it was pushed to March. Then, yesterday, news came out that the Weinstein Company had removed the film from its schedule entirely. And now we know why: Grace of Monaco will open the Cannes Film Festival on May 14. Directed by Olivier Dahan (La Vie En Rose), the film stars Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly, who, after six years as Princess of Monaco, is asked to return to the movies. If only for its Frenchness, it sure sounds like a nice fit for Cannes.
