Madonna’s found herself at the center of her own shouldn’t-have-said-that fiasco after posting a picture of her 13-year-old son Rocco with the caption, “No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out!” accompanied by the hashtag “#disnigga.” As the AP notes, when fans objected, Madge took down the photo and re-posted it with a new caption that “defiantly called them haters.”
However, she apparently recognized her error on Saturday, when she released an Instagrammed statement apologizing for the incident:
Why Madonna ever thought it was appropriate to use that word as “a term of endearment toward my son who is white” is unclear, but we’re sure she’s learned a lesson about hashtag composition, if nothing else.
