On Sunday, NBC’s production arm, Universal Television, announced that it’s signed a three-year producing deal with recent Golden Globes host and winner Amy Poehler. While the deal was likely decided upon before the awards show, NBC couldn’t help but note that the broadcast emceed by Poehler and Tina Fey was the most highly rated Golden Globes in ten years, with 21 million viewers. The Hollywood Reporter has some idea of what the Peacock’s expanding relationship with Poehler will look like: The network has ordered a comedy pilot co-created by Poehler and starring Natasha Lyonne. Currently known as Old Soul, the project will have Lyonne “play a woman trying to find where she fits in between her friends.” So yeah, we’ll be watching.
