If you’re a New Yorker, especially a famous one, the one thing you must do before you flee to Los Angeles is appear on Law & Order. Yes: Alec Baldwin will appear on a March 19 episode of Law & Order: SVU, playing newspaper columnist Jimmy MacArthur, “a controversial New York newspaper columnist who questions the SVU squad’s motives during the investigation of a potential hate crime/rape case.” He won’t be the only cameo: Katie Couric will play herself, a.k.a. a talk-show host who interviews Baldwin’s MacArthur about this SVU accusations. Alec Baldwin as a journalist? Not quite ripped from the headlines.
