After last night's Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon premiere kicked off with a long(er) opening monologue than usual, Fallon mentioned that "a friend" owed him $100 after betting that he wouldn't get The Tonight Show. The joke was a quick reminder of where he truly shines: Out walked a slew of celebrities, so perfect in their randomness, to welcome Fallon by each presenting him with a hundred-dollar bill.
The cameos included Robert DeNiro (who was Fallon's first guest on Fallon's last show), Fallon's former Weekend Update co-host Tina Fey, Joe Namath, former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani ("Thank you for bringin' it back to New York"), Mariah Carey, Tracy Morgan, Joan Rivers (appearing on The Tonight Show for the first time since 1986, after being banned by Johnny Carson), Kim Kardashian (who also appeared on Jay Leno's last Tonight Show), Seth Rogen, Lindsay Lohan (was there also a mini Mean Girls reunion backstage?), Sarah Jessica Parker (who so cleverly grabbed the $100 bill out of a pair of shoes from her new shoe line), Mike Tyson (getting way too close to Fallon's ear for comfort), Lady Gaga (she'll be his second music guest, performing a new single on the show tonight), and Stephen Colbert (hazing his 11:30 brother with a bucket of pennies).
Kim K. naturally shared some behind-the-scenes photos of the welcoming committee:
Seth Rogen summed it up:
