Hear Interpretations of All Twenty Tracks From Beck’s Song Reader

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - AUGUST 10: Musician Beck performs at the Lands End Stage during day 1 of the 2012 Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival at Golden Gate Park on August 10, 2012 in San Francisco, California. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic)

Beck has impressed, confounded, and intrigued throughout his career, but his boldest project to date is likely Song Reader, a collection of twenty compositions he published as sheet music in 2012. In lieu of recording the songs himself, he set up a website allowing fans and fellow musicians to submit their own interpretations of his work. As part of our Beck bonanza today, Vulture scoured YouTube to find great renditions each of the twenty tunes — including a few performed live by the musician himself and others involving the Mighty Boosh, Jenny Lewis, and Anne Hathaway — and offer them up here in the order the tracks appear in Song Reader.
