Justin Long has signed on to star in the Fox comedy pilot Sober Companion, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show is a single-camera* comedy about a self-destructive lawyer (a role still not cast) who finds himself with a court-appointed sober companion. Long, who had a pretty cute arc on Mom earlier this season, will play said companion, who’s described as “perennially upbeat, maddeningly eccentric” and who uses “unconventional methods.” Watch out, Elementary’s Joan Watson! Now TV has — well, might have — two unconventional sober coaches.

* The show is being shot as a single-camera comedy. Probably for the best.
