It’s now official: Dan Harmon’s Rick and Morty will be back for a second season. Adult Swim announced the renewal today, a completely unsurprising development given that the show is a big hit among the network’s under-35 demo target. “I am excited to make as much Rick and Morty as Adult Swim allows, and I’m relieved to be in a time slot of no strategic value to CBS,” Harmon quipped in a statement. Since premiering last year, Rick and Morty has been growing like crazy, with its ratings up more than 60 percent with viewers under 35. Considering Adult Swim’s plans to expand its prime-time programming, expect Rick and Morty to be around for quite a while. Seven seasons and a video game?
