To refresh your memory, since there are multiple hip-hop pilots out there right now: This is Empire, the family drama from Lee Daniels and his Butler co-writer Danny Strong (a.k.a. Andrew Rannells’s mean boyfriend on last week’s Girls). Anyway, Howard will play Lucious Lyons, the head of a record label called also called Empire. How convenient that the show and the label have the same name!
