Brad Pitt Really Wants to Star in a Judd Apatow Movie

Oscar-winning megastar Brad Pitt would like to return to big screen comedy, and he’s banking on Judd Apatow to let him be his next blockbuster darling. According to a report from Radar, a source close to the 12 Years a Slave actor and producer said that he’s “avoided doing comedies for several years but that’s going to change soon. He’s been making moves to butter up to Judd, someone he’s known for more than 15 years.”

Despite Apatow’s friendship with Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, the Radar report alleges that “Judd is very interested in writing and directing Brad” and the director is “going to do his best to make something work in the coming months.” Although Pitt reportedly considered a recent script by Secret Life of Walter Mitty’s Steve Conrad, “he’d much rather work on an original Apatow project that’s been tailor-made for him.” The last comedy Pitt starred in was the Coen brothers’ Burn After Reading back in 2008, so maybe Apatow will be the key to Pitt’s successful return to comedy.
