The word iconic is overused. This is a fact. Take Mark Wahlberg, for example. At Monday’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas, he said that he decided to star in Transformers: Age of Extinction because he “had to jump at the opportunity because I really feel like it is probably the most iconic franchise in movie history.” More iconic than the Star Wars movies, or the Indiana Jones movies, or the James Bond movies, or the Batman movies … Maybe he doesn’t know what the word means.
