Most people know actor Norm Lewis as serial dumpee Senator Edison Davis on Scandal, but soon they will recognize him as the first black performer to star in the titular role in the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Well ... they'll recognize the left half of his face, at least. Having previously starred in Miss Saigon and 2011's Porgy and Bess revival, Lewis will take over the role on May 12. Olivia is going to be so mad at herself for dumping Edison now. She said herself she wanted "painful, difficult, devastating love," and there is nothing more painful or difficult than loving a disfigured megalomanic who lives in the bowels of an opera house. Trust us.
