As with last weekend, Captain America: The Winter Soldier took control of the box office, bringing in $41.4 million for two-week cumulative earnings of $158.4 million. Meanwhile, the family-friendly Rio 2 opened with $38.7 million. Fellow newcomers Oculus and Draft Day took third and fourth place, respectively. While the horror flick made $12 million, Hollywood’s NFL love letter only earned $9.75 million. Divergent rounded out the top five: though it only brought in $7.48 million this weekend, it has now made $124.87 during its one month in theaters.
