Courteney Cox on Friends Reunion: ‘Not Gonna Happen’

If you are one of those people still irrationally holding out hope for a Friends reunion, we’re afraid we have some bad news. “It’s not gonna happen,” Courteney Cox told David Letterman tonight, putting all those completely nonexistent Friends movie rumors to rest. As Cox points out, the whole show was shot on a soundstage in Monica’s apartment, so the narrative options for a film are pretty limited. Plus, the cast can’t even get it together to have a meal, let alone make a movie. “There’s six friends, and I have been trying to put together a cast dinner for ten years,” said Cox. “It doesn’t happen. I mean, I can get the girls to come, maybe Matthew Perry. Matt LeBlanc cancelled last time, Schwimmer lives here, so it’s just not going to happen.” Still, we’re happy to hear that the characters continue to live on in some limited way beyond the show – namely, the fact Courteney Cox is still trying to plan stuff, and is still being stood up by her disorganized friends. She is such a Monica.
