As part of Lorne Michaels’s continuing quest to make sure there are no hours of television without his name attached to them, NBC has announced a three-hour live special celebrating Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary. The show, set to air February 15th, 2015, will feature a yet to be determined lineup of past and present cast members as well as guests from the show’s run. “This special is just one of the many ways we plan to celebrate SNL’s historic 40th season next year,” said NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt. Word has it they will also continue to celebrate the iconic sketch show with a live special airing once a week, on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
