Here’s a new Funny Or Die video in which Fred Armisen auditions to take over as lead singer of The Flaming Lips and takes the band through several genres of music. Written by Andy Bush, Jake Fogelnest, and Jake Weisman and directed by Bush, it’s one of four videos that The Flaming Lips made with Funny Or Die for April Fool’s Day, including a trailer for a Michael Bay disaster movie based on their album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, a video of them being encouraged to sell out by a record exec played by Jon Daly, and the entire 45-minute studio session of Flaming Side of the Moon, an album the band recorded at Funny Or Die’s behest to sync up with both The Wizard of Oz and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.
