Channing Tatum Will Play X-Men’s Gambit

Channing Tatum is your new Gambit, America. It’s an idea that’s been going around for a while now, with Tatum publicly saying he wanted to play the X-Man, but the casting has now been confirmed by X-Men film producer Lauren Shuler Donner. Talking to Total Film (below), Donner said so, flatly, “It is Channing.” On why Tatum would make a good Gambit, Donner said, “He’s a rogue. Channing, he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau. And he can handle the action. We all know that. And he’s got a really good heart.” What she didn’t say is exactly where Tatum would play Gambit. Will it be a standalone movie? Will he have a role in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse? Taylor Kitsch played Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but that doesn’t mean too much, as the producers have already proven themselves flexible with continuity. Either way, can someone start working on a Zydeco version of “Pony?” Someone needs a soundtrack for his staff-based dance routine.
