See Edgar Wright’s Response to His Ant-Man Departure

This weekend it appeared that Marvel tried to bury the news that Edgar Wright, who had been attached to the project since 2006, would no longer be directing Ant-Man. A statement said that the move was “due to differences in their vision of the film,” which is unsurprisingly vague. Wright remained silent on the matter until he tweeted the below photo of Buster Keaton holding a Cornetto, with the caption “selfie.” He quickly deleted the photo, but not before Bleeding Cool could grab a screenshot of it. Keaton, who started out making independent films, famously clashed with MGM after signing a deal to make movies for them. He eventually called the decision to work with MGM the worst of his life. So, that settles that. Well, until Marvel tweets a photo of a different silent-film star swimming in a pile of money.
