Jack White Basically Never Talks to Meg Anymore

Musicians Meg White (L) and Jack White attend the "The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights" screening held at Elign Theatre during the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival on September 18, 2009 in Toronto, Canada.

Though they officially broke up in 2011, the White Stripes have essentially been dormant since 2009. Jack White has been busy doing Jack White stuff, but what about his former drummer and wife, Meg? "I don't think anyone talks to Meg. She's always been a hermit," White told Rolling Stone. He explained, "When we lived in Detroit, I'd have to drive over to her house if I wanted to talk to her, so now it's almost never." In the interview, Jack talked about how this was sometimes frustrating when the band was together. "We'd be working in the studio and something amazing would happen: I'm like, 'Damn, we just broke into a new world right there!' And Meg's sitting in silence." Still, Jack remembers their time together fondly, saying, "I would often look at her onstage and say, 'I can't believe she's up here.' I don't think she understood how important she was to the band, and to me and to music." In summation, that White Stripes reunion you were hoping for is still a bit away.
