On top of creating a scripted comedy for Starz with Patrick Stewart, THR reports that Bored to Death’s Jonathan Ames is also adapting the Icelandic dramedy World’s End into a half-hour series for premium network Showtime. The series will follow a high school English teacher “struggling with life, love and his disaffected students, who spins out of control and winds up committed to a mental institution, where, ironically, he finally feels normal and becomes the leader of an inmate revolt.” Ames will write the script and serve as executive producer alongside Ben Silverman and his former Bored to Death EP Stephanie Davis.
