In addition to directing HBO’s upcoming Olive Kitteridge adaptation, The Kids Are All Right’s Lisa Cholodenko has signed on to direct NBC’s eight-episode miniseries The Slap, based on an Australian series of the same name. The family drama follows the repercussions of a man slapping another couple’s child, an act which, per the official logline, “pulls the family apart, begins to expose long-held secrets, and ignites a lawsuit that challenges the core American values of all who are pulled into it.” At least Cholodenko will be on hand to make sure the kid is all right.
