One week after going hard with references to 2001: A Space Odyssey in an episode titled “The Monolith,” Mad Men went back to the Kubrick well again with a moment this week in which Ginsberg observes Lou Avery and Jim Cutler engaged in a secret conversation in the room holding the agency’s new computer. It’s not clear whether, like 2001’s HAL, he is able to read lips.
