What’s On TV This Week: Season Finale for ‘Silicon Valley,’ Premiere of ‘Undateable’

While the broadcast networks’ season finales are behind us, HBO’s sitcoms Silicon Valley and Veep will return after a hiatus this weekend. Silicon Valley will end its eight-episode first season Sunday, but it was quickly renewed for a second season shortly after its premiere so there’s plenty more to come. SyFy is debuting its new comedy show, The Wil Wheaton Project, tonight, and NBC continues to roll out its summer programming with the premiere of Undateable, a comedy starring Chris D’Elia and Ron Funches and produced by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Cougar Town). Undateable airs as a lead-in to Last Comic Standing, which premiered last week, and will establish its finalists this week. Unfortunately almost all of the late night world is taking Memorial Day week off, with Craig Ferguson the only host who’s airing new episodes, but Fred Armisen stopping by Comedy Bang! Bang! should be hilarious.
