AMC Orders Season 2 of ‘Better Call Saul’ Before Season 1 Even Airs; Pushes Premiere to 2015

AMC announced today they’ve ordered a second season of Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul, prior to the first season even premiering. The network has also delayed the first season premiere of Better Call Saul, which was supposed to happen in November, and is now pushed to early 2015. The second season will consist of 13 episodes; the first will be 10 episodes. Additionally, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan will now be serving as co-showrunner. He had previously not planned on being involved in the show full-time.

Created by Gilligan and Peter Gould, Better Call Saul is an hour-long comedy-drama that stars Bob Odenkirk as his Breaking Bad character Saul Goodman, taking place before the events of that series. The supporting cast includes Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando, and Jonathan Banks, who’s reprising his Breaking Bad role of Mike Ehrmantraut.
