Here’s Chris Rock’s opening monologue as host of the BET Awards, or, as he calls them, the “Black World Cup.” As expected, the comic held nothing back when it came to lampooning various aspects of the year in black culture, including, but not limited to: The Solange and Jay Z elevator fight, Beats by Dre, Kevin Hart, The Butler, and Donald Sterling. (As he says of Sterling: “The first black man he ever met he got for Christmas.”) Come for the off-color jokes, stay for the awkward cutaways to Robin Thicke.
