After months of speculation, it was officially announced today that Lupita Nyong’o will develop Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel Americanah into a feature film for her to star in. Americanah, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction in 2013, is a love story between two young Nigerians that “[explores] the cruelties and the humor of both the modern immigrant experience and the difficulty of finding your way home." This has been quite the week for Nyong’o, who also was cast in the upcoming Star Wars movie. Now we just need to get her in a buddy comedy, because everyone already wants to be her best friend.
