“I don’t know if it would be fun to live in that world,” Elliott Smith says about his 1998 Oscars performance of “Miss Misery” in the first few minutes of this Kickstarter-funded documentary, Heaven Adores You. The film premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival last month, and is not only the first full-length documentary with permission to use Smith’s music, but will also include unreleased songs.
