The fourth installation of the Michael Bay franchise Transformers: Age of Extinction dominated the weekend box office with an estimated $100 million Stateside and over $300 million overseas. Holding steady at second place was 22 Jump Street, which took $15.4 million for a cumulative total of $140 million. How to Train Your Dragon 2 came in at third with $13.1 million. Last weekend’s box office winner, Think Like a Man Too, had a steep drop and came in at fourth with $10.4 million. Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent continued to hold strong at fifth with $8.2 million, bringing its overall domestic total over $200 million. Meanwhile, Bong Joon-ho’s dystopian thriller Snowpiercer took in $162,127 across eight screens while the Keira Knightley/Mark Ruffalo musical Begin Again took in $148,300 over five.
