Yaya DaCosta, a former America’s Next Top Model runner-up who has since appeared in Lee Daniels’ The Butler and The Kids Are All Right, will play Whitney Houston in an upcoming Lifetime biopic directed by Angela Bassett. The biopic plans to cover Houston’s rise to fame and turbulent relationship with husband Bobby Brown. According to TMZ, the Houston family isn’t thrilled about the adaption: “Whitney is certainly worthy of more than a television movie,” said Pat Houston, the singer’s sister-in-law and co-executor of her estate. Don’t hold your breath for any actual Whitney songs.
