Update: There Are No Plans for an Adele Tour or New Album

Update: Just as we suspected, this tweet has been debunked by The Hollywood Reporter. They spoke with Beggars Group chairman Martin Mills, a.k.a. the head of the parent company to Adele’s XL Recordings, who says that there’s “no truth in this.”

Well, this is confusing! The Twitter account for the World Music Awards announced last night that Adele has “confirmed” a 2015 tour and the release of a new album, titled 25. (She’d sort of hinted at the album back in May.) This all sounds very exciting, but why would the social-media account for an awards show that already aired this past May have the scoop? And choose to release it via its Twitter seemingly randomly, two months later? While 25 certainly fits the trend (2008’s 19, and then 2011’s 21) and Adele did just turn 26 in May … we’re wary. Our advice? It’s okay to be excited, but wait until Adele confirms to be really excited.
