James Van Der Beek to Play Lead in CSI: Cyber

Deadline reports that James Van Der Beek has joined the cast of CSI: Cyber, CBS's upcoming CSI spinoff focusing on internet crimes. The show stars Patricia Arquette as cyberpsychologist Avery Ryan, head of the FBI's Cyber Crime Division, while Van Der Beek will play FBI Agent Elijah Mundo, an expert in battlefield forensics and an "action junkie" whom Ryan hired for his efforts during the War on Terror. Per the official synopsis, the pair "will team up to fight the world’s toughest cyber crimes." Finally, the creator of the Van Der Beek cry-face meme will be brought to justice.
