Aaliyah, Whitney, and now Brittany Murphy will each get a Lifetime biopic. The Brittany Murphy Story, starring Last Man Standing’s Amanda Fuller as Brittany and Twin Peaks’ Sherilyn Fenn as Sharon Murphy, Brittany’s mom, will premiere on September 6. Wonder if this wrinkle will make it in: After Murphy’s death, her biological father Angelo Bertolotti claimed that she and her husband Simon Monjack (who died five months later) were poisoned. Sharon Murphy responded in an open letter to The Hollywood Reporter last November, saying, “Angelo has shown he only wants to trade on Brittany’s life, career and good reputation — even at the cost of putting a cloud over her memory.”
