Despite the huge success of David Fincher’s 2011 English-language adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, there hasn’t been much movement on the next two films as of late. Yet Fincher apparently still has hopes for the series: “I think because [Sony] already has spent millions of dollars on the rights and the script, it will result in something,” Fincher told Swedish site Afton Bladet (with Film Divider providing the translations). “The script that we now have has huge potential. I can reveal that it is extremely different from the book,” he continued. Yeah, whatever, Fincher. That’s what you always say.
