Lauryn Hill has a history of showing up late to her own concerts, and she tried fans' patience yet again at a concert in London Saturday night, arriving 90 minutes late to her show at the 5,000-seater O2 Academy in Brixton. Things weren't much better when she did eventually show up, with attendees criticizing the show's terrible sound quality and alleging that Hill had rearranged classic songs to the point that they were "unrecognizable." As The Telegraph's James Hall wrote: "By the sixth track, so obscure were the reinterpretations that people in the crowd were playing 'guess the song.' It turned out to be 'Ex-Factor,' another career highlight, this time done as a reggae ballad."
Meanwhile, fans took to Twitter to voice their disappointment:
Brixton Academy, with no sign of Lauryn Hill as yet. Not surprised, but hopeful that she'll arrive soon pic.twitter.com/xkPjIrlodn— JoCaird (@JoCaird) September 21, 2014

Literally heartbroken that the Lauren hill I knew no longer exists. Her show in London tonight is the worst gig I’ve ever been to. #fb— Archi Troko (@Archi_T) September 20, 2014

I paid to watch Lauryn Hill perform, in my opinion a truly great album but instead I've just left half way through her High School Musical..— Karlos Andrade (@KarlosAndrade9) September 20, 2014
This feels like a jungle rave. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill remixed by major lazer.— kelechnekoff (@kelechnekoff) September 20, 2014
Ouch. Although, is it just us, or does The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill remixed by Major Lazer sound sort of intriguing?
