Fury and Annie Pirated Online After Sony Hack Attack

After a hacking that took down Sony’s systems on Monday, five films from Sony Pictures are circulating on file-sharing networks. Chief among them is the Brad Pitt vehicle Fury, still in theaters, which has been downloaded more than 880,000 times, according to piracy tracking firm Excipio. Annie, which comes out in wide release in a few weeks, has been downloaded more than 184,000 times. The other three films — Still Alice, Mr. Turner, and To Write Love on Her Arms — have been shared less than 100,000 times each. Regarding the hacking, a Sony spokesperson told Variety that the company is “working closely with law enforcement to address it.” Deadline first reported #GOP, or “Guardians of Peace,” taking credit for the hacking by showing a picture of a skeleton and a threat to release “top secrets.”
