GQ included Dave Chappelle in its Man of the Year issue. In the interview, Chappelle talks about how his run of shows at Radio City Music Hall fulfilled a lifelong goal, and how they were “the end of any doubt that there was something real between me and the audience.” With that goal accomplished, what’s next? Barbecues! “I have all these weird fantasies. Going coast-to-coast on my motorcycle and having random barbecues all over America,” he explains. “No show, no nothing.” He just wants to see and meet people. “I like finding out new walks of life and new ideas.” (Note: It will be “bring your own meat.”)
Beyond that, to make some money, he says he wants to do TV — all the TV. “For one year, I want to do this thing where I guest-star on as many television shows as I possibly can.” What shows? “I’d be a zombie in The Walking Dead. A corpse on CSI. I’d be the first black guy to fuck Olivia Pope on Scandal.” Maybe if you agree to serve red wine at those barbecues, Dave, she’ll forget about Edison, too.
