Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart to Star in Buddy Comedy ‘Central Intelligence’

Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are teaming up for a buddy comedy. Variety reports that both stars have signed on for New Line’s upcoming comedy Central Intelligence directed by We’re the Millers’ Rawson Thurber, which centers on Hart as a “former high school sports star turned accountant” who is contacted by his once-bullied former classmate (Johnson): “The ‘loser’ that the accountant remembers is now a CIA contract killer who ropes him into helping foil a plot to sell classified military secrets.” Mindy Project writers Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen wrote the original script, and We’re the Millers writers Sean Anders and John Morris are onboard for the latest draft. Both Hart and Johnson have other comedy projects slated to premiere soon – Hart stars in the upcoming Ride Along 2 and Get Hard with Will Ferrell, while Johnson will executive produce and star in the upcoming series Ballers on HBO.
