Georgia O’Keefe’s Jimson Seed/White Flower No.1, 1932, sold last night at Sotheby’s New York for the world record $44.4 million for any female artist.
Rest assured, the painting is of a flower, since, you know, that’s what women really want.
(No disrespect to the deserving O’Keefe, though.)
