NBC Is Developing a Multi-Cam Cruise Ship Comedy ‘Port of Miami’

NBC is setting out to sea for a brand new sitcom. THR reports that the network has given a script commitment to a multi-cam comedy called Port of Miami from former Home Improvement showrunners Matt Williams and David McFadzean. The series will take place on a Miami-based cruise ship and follow “an unmotivated white bartender who works with a variety of international employees, all of them aggressively seeking the American dream and incredulous that he is content to mix drinks, chase women and settle for less.” No cast has been announced yet, but Mark Perez (The Country Bears, Accepted) will pen the script, which is described as “Cheers on a cruise ship.”
