HBO Is Developing a Show Based on Laura Kightlinger’s Memoir ‘Quick Shots of False Hope’

Laura Kightlinger might get an autobiographical comedy on HBO. Deadline reports that the network is currently developing single-cam comedy Quick Shots of False Hope based on Kightlinger’s 1995 memoir of the same name. The series will be written and executive produced by Kightlinger and Will & Grace co-creator Max Mutchnick and will follow “a 1970s-era single mom and her ongoing quest to find a husband, while still sleeping with her daughter’s married father.” Kightlinger is an SNL alum, starred in her own IFC series The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman from 2006-2007, and most recently worked as a consulting producer on CBS’s 2 Broke Girls.
