We didn’t get a female late-night host this go-round, but it looks like Parenthood’s Lauren Graham might play one on TV. Not quite good enough for us, but Graham will play Kate in Kate on Later, a comedy about a woman “who thought her day job was all her life would amount to when an opportunity arises that’s bigger than she ever dreamed possible. But that opportunity means she’s going to have to break one of the last remaining glass ceilings — the world of late-night network television talk shows.” Developed for NBC, Ellen Degeneres will executive produce and Graham will co-write along with He’s Just Not That Into You’s Liz Tuccillo. Perhaps, if the show’s good enough, someone will spring for the real thing. NBC, how about you?
