“Page Six” reports that the wonderful, all-powerful, and totally smart Charlize Theron negotiated a $10 million raise after learning that she was being paid exactly that amount less than her male co-star, Chris Hemsworth, in their upcoming film, The Huntsman. They are both leads and now their salaries will be equal. Turns out there’s an upside to those Sony leaks other than those amazing Amy Pascal emails. Says “Page Six”:
One source said, “Charlize insisted that she get paid the same money as Chris. She has a great track record, so she got the same deal.” Another insider added: “One knock-on effect from the Sony hacking scandal is that there will be more sensitivity about equal pay for actresses and hiring practices at movie studios.”
