Vanilla Ice, a.k.a. Robert Van Winkle, was arrested Wednesday in connection to a robbery that happened between December and January in Lantana, Florida. NBC News reports that the 1990s-era rapper was charged with burglary and grand theft for ending up in possession of a neighbor’s furniture, pool heater, and bikes, among other belongings. “It was blown out of proportion. It’s sad that good news doesn’t travel this fast,” Van Winkle told reporters, after he was booked at and released from Palm Beach County Jail. “It’ll all get cleared up, you’ll see.” The home from which items were allegedly pilfered was reportedly in the process of foreclosure; Van Winkle was renovating the residence next door for his show, The Vanilla Ice Project on the DIY Network. A search warrant reportedly revealed the stolen items were at a residence under Van Winkle’s control. He has been cooperative with authorities so far.
