Take that, “Drip Drop” haters: Empire officially has the No. 1 album in the country! After days of being neck-and-neck with Madonna, the show’s season-one soundtrack beat out her latest album, Rebel Heart, to debut on top of the Billboard “200” chart, selling just under 10,000 more units than the pop icon, at 130,000. Madonna’s new album will debut at No. 2. According to Billboard, Empire is the first TV soundtrack to debut at No. 1 since Fox’s other megahit musical Glee did it back in 2010. Guess it’s time to start rallying for a Madonna cameo on season two. (She’s already cast Terrence Howard in her new music video, so, hey, why not?!)
