Prince has reached the cultural status of “he can do whatever he damn well pleases.” And one of those things will be a series of surprise shows with his band 3rdEyeGirl, billed as an American extension of the Hit and Run tour he did around Europe last year. He’ll be kicking it off with an as-yet-undisclosed venue on March 14 in Louisville, Kentucky, which is where drummer Hannah Welton was born. Tickets go on sale March 9 on Live Nation. It’s likely that the process for the rest of the tour dates will be similarly “spontaneous.” So if you want to lose your mind like the celebrities at awards shows this year, just make sure you have a sturdy internet connection.
