Paramedics rushed iconic folk musician Joni Mitchell to the hospital Tuesday, after receiving a 911 call from her home, TMZ was first to report. Mitchell's official website confirmed that she was hospitalized, writing on Twitter, "We are awaiting official word on her condition and will post it here as soon as we know." A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson told Vulture that paramedics responded to a medical emergency on Mitchell's Bel Air street earlier this afternoon. TMZ's sources said Mitchell, 71, was found unconscious and is being treated in an intensive care unit. There has been no word on what caused the incident, but the site describes her condition as "quite serious." Most recently, the artist was busy promoting her four-disc compilation set, Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, A Ballet, Waiting to Be Danced.
