Joss Whedon Thinks Jurassic World Looks Pretty ‘’70s-Era Sexist’

Just another lazy Hollywood trope?

When you’re going head-to-head in summer blockbuster season, anything to edge out the competition helps. But in Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon’s case, he’s actually got a point. He took to Twitter last night to call out fellow director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World for its not-so-subtle sexist undertones. He specifically blasted a clip from the film that was released this week, in which he says Bryce Dallas Howard’s character is made to be the uppity “stiff” to Chris Pratt’s jokester “life-force” — a tired Hollywood trope he likens to the ‘70s:
