Major Lazer’s FXX Cartoon Series Looks Out of This World

Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Jillionaire (collectively known as Major Lazer) have finally found a home for their sci-fi music cartoon, Major Lazer. The series premieres April 16 at midnight as part of FXX’s Animation Domination bloc. “It’s been almost five years in the making,” Diplo told Billboard, “but it was worth it to have such a succinct TV show for our music fans and cartoon fans alike.” The ‘toon will follow an eponymous Rasta commando in dystopian Jamaica who takes after Mega Man, but can DJ on top of being a superhero. Featuring the voices of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, J.K. Simmons, Aziz Ansari, Andy Samberg, Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, Charli XCX, and RiFF RAFF, the show will be a veritable trip.
